Truth be told

Who I am in Christ matters more than anything that I feel or others say about me.

As discussed in the last article, identity of an individual as son/daughter of most high God plays a vital role in the walk. It is the choicest weapon of enemy against the body of Christ. It can either lead us closer to God or moves us apart from him. It becomes important for every believer to fill the mind with the truth about all that Bible says about our identity.

One of the things, we as believers need to be firmly rooted is in the truth that our sins separated us from God but it is through the sacrifice of our savior Jesus Christ; we were reconciled with God and received the spirit of God in us that cries out ‘Abba Father.’

The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” Romans 8:15

We could do nothing for the restoration of our identity as sons and daughters of the most high and nothing we can ever do that can break this relationship or take this right away from us because of the sacrifice done for us on the cross.

Confessions of identity (Make these confessions personal)

You are Loved

God’s love for us is unconditional. It was his compassion and love for us that he bankrupted heaven and gave his only son to die as lamb without blemish. One of the lies enemy keeps on whispering is that Jesus died for all but not for you but truth be told he died for you and me.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16

You are made in the image of God

Living in the 21st century, we all are aware of images. An image is a reflection of the external form of a person. It means that when God created us in his image, he created us just as he is.

Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” Genesis 1:26

You are child of God

But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name. John 1:12

For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. Galatians 3:26

And I will be a father to you, and you shall be sons and daughters to me,” Says the Lord Almighty.

2 Corinthians 6:18

For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. Romans 8:14

He has engraved you in the palm of his hand

See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me. Isaiah 49:16

You are fearfully and wonderfully made

13You formed my innermost being, shaping my delicate inside and my intricate outside, and wove them all together in my mother’s womb,
14 I thank you, God, for making me so mysteriously complex! Everything you do is marvelously breathtaking. It simply amazes me to think about it! How thoroughly you know me, Lord!
15 You even formed every bone in my body when you created me in the secret place, carefully, skillfully shaping me from nothing to something.
16 You saw who you created me to be before I became me! Before I’d ever seen the light of day,

Psalm 139:13-16

He calls you by your name

But now, thus says the LORD, who created you, O Jacob, And he who formed you, O Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; You are mine.

 Isaiah 43:1,2

You are not an orphan

We are adopted by God through our faith in Jesus Christ and have been connected to the tree of life. Galatians 3:26

Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household, Ephesians 2:19

You are God’s masterpiece.

For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. Ephesians 2:10

You are God’s clay and he is your potter.

He said, “Can I not do with you, Israel, as this potter does?” declares the Lord. “Like clay in the hand of the potter, so are you in my hand, Israel. Jeremiah 18:6

You are God’s handicraft

Yet you, Lord, are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand. Isaiah 64:8

You are an apple of God’s eye.

For thus says the Lord of hosts, “After glory He has sent me against the nations which plunder you, for he who touches you, touches the apple of His eye. Zechariah 2:8

He found him in a desert land, and in the howling waste of a wilderness; He encircled him, He cared for him, He guarded him as the pupil of His eye. Deuteronomy 32:10

You are chosen royal priesthood.

For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. Ephesians 1:4

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. 1 Peter 2:9

You are part of God’s great plan.

Even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love he predestined us for adoption as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will. Ephesians 1:4-5

God has prepared a place for you in his kingdom.

In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. John 14:2-3

You are honorable vessel of God.

If you keep yourself pure, you will be a special utensil for honorable use. Your life will be clean, and you will be ready for the Master to use you for every good work. 2 Timothy 2:21

God’s desire is upon you and he continuously smiles at you.

I belong to my beloved, and his desire is for me. Song of Solomon 7:10

Meditate on these eternal truths about your identity throughout the years of your life.

Prayer: Dear heavenly father, I pray for my beloved reader who is reading this prayer right now that you would expose every lie that they might have believed about their identity and your eternal truth shall tear down all the lies. I pray Lord that they shall be deeply rooted in firmly established in these truths that nothing will ever be able to shake them. I ask you Lord to give them the encounters of all that you feel for them and wrap them in the blanket of love. In Jesus name, Amen.

Maybe you are reading this and never knew about the Lord who is a compassionate and loving father and want to give your life to him; Read this prayer: Dear Lord Jesus, I ask you to come into my heart and forgive my sins. I receive you as my savior who died and was resurrected for me. Come and do what you want to do in my life. I surrender my heart, mind, and soul to you. In Jesus name, Amen.

“May the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.” (Heb. 13:20-21)
